Caplin hires ARG’s Foster in wake of Monk resignation

Cherie Blair’s ‘lifestyle guru’ Carole Caplin is understood to have put attempts to bolster her PR team on hold as she bids to secure lucrative media deals through agent Michael Foster.

Foster, the founder and partner of Artists Rights Group, has been hired to represent Caplin following the decision by her former PR adviser Ian Monk to resign his contract with her (PRWeek, 19 September).

Caplin’s solicitor, Martin Cruddace of Schillings, who last week said Schillings was ‘handling her PR for the time being’, was this week transferring media inquiries about Caplin to ARG.

Foster was overseas and unavailable for comment as PRWeek went to press, but it is understood that he and Caplin could consider drafting in further media relations support – to augment that provided by Foster – at some point in the future.

Freud Communications, which according to one media report last week had started to represent Caplin – has already ruled itself out of entering any deal with her (PRWeek, 19 September).
