Eidos head of comms Steve Starvis said Championship Manager Season 03/04 – due for release on PC this November – wants a new agency to promote the successor to the present version, out last March, Championship Manager 4 (the fastest-selling PC game in UK history).
Development studio Sports Interactive (SI), which programmed the series, ceased to work with Wimbledon-based Eidos earlier this month following a mutually-agreed split.
Eidos and SI will hold on to their respective properties. The former retains the game’s brand, and SI, which will continue to use Bastion – who promoted the last version – for PR, retains ownership of aspects such as the player database.
The firm’s relationship with Herald Communications is not under review.
