Scott-Spicer’s role at Barnet which she takes up in November, is being covered in the interim by Marina Pirotta Communications consultant James Flynn, who has also been involved in the recruitment process.
He said the council had created the role after an internal review. This found the need for a senior PRO role with a direct reporting line to the CEO.
Her departure follows that of head of press Ruth Davison and head of comms co-ordination Jennifer Tankard (PRWeek, 25 July).
The Commission has yet to find replacements for the two roles. Media manager Miranda James is covering Davison’s responsibilities, while the body’s senior account manager Sophie Ure is filling Tankard’s role on an interim basis.
The organisation is also looking for a public affairs manager and is currently using the services of Reputation Inc associate Jeremy Browne to cover that role.
