DIARY: IPR charity conference surrounded by predators

Members of the IPR's Wessex Group and its charity division, Fifth Estate, will have to hold their nerve this month as they convene for lunch just feet away from nine species of predatory cats, including a Siberian tiger.

The idea for the location for their 23 September conference on 'charities and business working together' came to Fifth Estate chair Lyn Smith, she says, when she realised that Winchester's Marwell Zoo was a member of her group.

The Game Conservancy Trust (GCT) will be on hand to talk about their experiences of working with business.

A spokesman for the IPR's Wessex Group declined to comment on whether the GCT would send along gamekeepers to protect delegates just in case any of the locals decide to take an interest in proceedings.
