MEDIA BRIEF: Tench to become editor

DAILY MAIL: Matt Tench, deputy sports editor at The Sunday Times, is to become sports editor of the Daily Mail. It is only a few months since Tench left Observer Sports Monthly, which he founded, for the job at the News International. At the Daily Mail he will replace Colin Gibson, who has held the role for the past three years. Paul Newman, who is currently associate editor, will be Tench's deputy. Gibson is thought to be staying at the paper in a senior role.
