Golin/Harris sets up Chinese office in expansion plan

SHANGHAI: Golin/Harris is to set up an office in China, it emerged this week.

G/H Forrest Singapore deputy MD Daphne Liew has been drafted in to build the business from scratch, with a small base of Hong Kong clients aiming for expansion into mainland China via Shanghai.

G/H is to share office space with Interpublic Group sister agencies Weber Shandwick, FutureBrand and Octagon.

Liew heads a team of two, but staff will be seconded from other markets as needed, according to G/H regional MD for Asia Rosemary Sayer. These include G/H Hong Kong managing director CT Hew and directors David Dodwell, Nick Bradbury and Leslie Fung. Both Dodwell and Fung will provide specialist counsel for clients seeking support in the Pearl River Delta.

Outlining the agency’s local strategy Sayer said: ‘Our idea is to build organically and definitely not to acquire.’
