FINANCIAL: FTSE 250 oil and gas firm Tullow Oil has hired Citigate Dewe Rogerson to handle its financial PR and investor relations. The agency will report to chief executive Aidan Heavey and finance director Tom Hickey.

CONSUMER: Hotwire PR has been hired to handle PR for DealTime, the US-based online shopping firm. The agency will focus on promoting the site’s home appliances and computing products. Hotwire senior partner Sian Gaskell heads the account.

HEALTHCARE: Biosector 2 has hired Conor Griffin as corporate media specialist in its London office. Griffin was formerly head of UK media relations at Burson-Marsteller, which he left in July.

FINANCIAL: Penrose Financial has been appointed by the Bank of Ireland Asset Management Group to handle its PR in the UK. The group manages around £2.3bn for UK investors.

HEALTHCARE: Emmett & Smith has been hired by pharma sector recruitment firm Ruston Poole International to handle a PR campaign to raise its profile within the life-science arena, specifically among non-executive directors.

CONSUMER: Wild Card PR will this month launch a campaign to promote two events for William Reed Exhibitions. The events are the Food & Drink Expo and the Convenience Retailing Show, held at the NEC in Birmingham from 14 to 17 March next year.

HEALTHCARE: Roche Diagnostics has hired Sussex-based Pegasus PR to handle its consumer and trade PR in the UK. The agency is to promote the Accu-Check range of blood glucose meters.

TECH: Revelation Software has appointed its first external PR adviser. Strategic Public Relations has been hired to target the government, healthcare, recruitment and financial services sectors.

PUBLIC AFFAIRS: PPS Group has appointed a new director for its Birmingham office, PPS Midlands. Bob Keys joins next month from Gough Allen Stanley.

TECH: Software firm Manhattan Associates has hired Fourth Day Public Relations to handle a UK B2B PR programme. Agency directors Nikki Smith and Victoria Paton-Smith report to international marcoms manager John Bird on the remit.
