DIARY: V Festival attracts thirsty hacks, celebs and lovers of inflatable chairs

Page Three models Melinda Messenger and an underdressed Jodie Marsh were among the VIPs in the Virgin Mobile PR team's special lounge at the V Festival in sunny Essex last weekend.

Actor Jack Osbourne, son of Ozzy, was also there, taking advantage of the free bar for close to 1,000 thirsty hacks and assorted hangers-on, said to have cost over £70,000.

Other ligging celebs included a miserable looking Zoe Ball and Jodie Kidd. The ubiquitous Tara Palmer-Tomkinson also put in an appearance, having first captured the heart of one young consultant from Consolidated Communications, the agency that jointly organised the whole shebang with Big-mouths PR.

But for Virgin Mobile corporate affairs director Steven Day the undisputed stars appear to have been the girls from Mis-teeq. The only downside was the strange lack, late in the day, of the comfy inflatable VM-branded armchairs that most of those present had been lounging on all day. Many journalists now have one adorning their living room.
