It is the first time Olympus has used an agency in these countries. The decision was prompted by the group's growth in Latin America, according to Stephanie Haoeckle, regional manager of IMS.
According to Haoeckle, the selection process took place over five months. IMS will provide media relations services and events support across the region, although the two most important markets for Olympus are Brazil and Mexico.
IMS teams in the various countries will report to Lisa Osorio, Olympus' marketing manager for Latin America and the Caribbean.
