DIARY: Auntie overdoes public service broadcasting

The silly season is already underway, as freelance PR consultant Stephen Lock can testify. Last Thursday a BBC film crew took over his flat for an hour and a half to film a short piece on how to open a sash window. Lock said: 'It seems you should open both at the top and bottom equally, the two parts of the sash overlap, which sets a cycle of hot air out and cold air sucked in.' A quiet news day indeed.
