The name has yet to be decided, but the launch is code-named Project April and is one of several new launches from BBC Magazines this year.
Publisher Alfie Lewis, said: 'We're confident we have a great feel for the market and Project April will complement existing titles.'
Media reports suggest Project April will be edited by former J17 deputy editor Michaela Kapferer and aims to rival Emap's Sneak, sister title to Heat.
Project April follows Project Olive, which launched the BBC's latest food title, Delicious, at the start of the year.
It's HOT!, launched last April, and TOTP Magazine are both expected to record strong ABC figures while other titles in the teen sector show signs of a slump.
PR for Project April will be handled in-house by the BBC Magazines press office.
