Swedish manufacturer Sandvik appoints Brazilian PR

Swedish high-tech engineering corporation, the Sandvik Group, has hired Brazilian agency Conteudo to take care of its PR in the country.

Claudio Sa, shareholder in Conteudo, will head a three-strong team which comprises Riacrdo Morato and Marcelo Lojudice, who has been appointed to work on the new account. The team will report to Francisco Marcondes, Sandvik's marketing director in Brazil.

Conteudo will initially provide media relations services, although Sa said the agency is likely to expand its services for the group. According to Sa, the agency was hired on the basis of its relationship with Swedish manufacturing company SKF, which it has promoted in Brazil for the past 18 months.

Founded in 1858, Sandvik manufactures industrial tools and machinery. The group has a presence in 130 countries and has about 37,000 employees. It has been in Brazil since 1949 and has five plants in Sao Paolo state.
