Edwards to review Outside structure as McAteer leaves

The Outside Organisation CEO Alan Edwards plans to restructure his agency following last week’s departure of press director Caroline McAteer.

Edwards this week also insisted David Beckham remained a client, despite news reports stating the England captain was to ditch the agency in the wake of the departure of McAteer, one of his and his wife Victoria’s closest confidantes.

Edwards conceded, however, that the future of Victoria’s relationship with Outside was ‘under review’ as speculation mounted that the former Spice Girl – and McAteer – were to sign up with 19 Management.

It is understood that 19 founder Simon Fuller and Victoria met last week in France to discuss a deal, and an announcement of a PR deal is likely within ten days.

Fuller’s spokesman Julian Henry, who runs his own agency, Henry’s House, would only say: ‘There is mutual respect between Fuller and the Beckhams.’

Edwards said: ‘We were going to restructure anyway: we have some big news on the corporate front to announce soon’.
