T-Mobile comms director in that country Jioi Hajek said the agency was hired earlier this month, after a pitch process that began with six agencies.
Agencies including MMD Communications and Ogilvy PR Worldwide were invited to email T-Mobile their financial proposals, a procedure that attracted some criticism from local PR agencies, which perceived it as an attempt to drive down agency fees.
Hajek denied he was touting for the lowest-cost agency.
T-Mobile formerly used Eklektic Communications, but the agency ceased to work for the telecoms company in March.
AC&C partner and PR division head Martin Frydl heads a five-strong team at the agency, which has landed an initial one-year contract.
l Czech-based full-service agency FG Forrest is set to launch a campaign to promote the ‘corporate image’ of fast-food giant McDonald’s across 16 countries in central and eastern Europe.
Vienna-based McDonald’s Central Europe selected FG Forrest to handle the initial two-month promotional push, which will kick off next month.
The PR drive will take its lead from an online sales promotion campaign, also devised by FG Forrest, which has handled various online work for McDonald’s in the past.
