Haag replaces Carlos Pinto, who has moved to work on a media training programme for government officials. He will report to Petrobras' communications executive manager Wilson Santarosa.
Haag said that he intends to restructure the company's press relations department, and has plans to hire five or six new staff, which would bring his team to a total of 17 or 18 people. 'Most of our media relations efforts will continue to focus on business journalism, but I will assign members of my team to specific areas,' he said. He added that the company will continue to hire external PR agencies for specific projects, but this would be mostly limited to big events and that his department would gradually take over most duties.
