DIARY: Clifford slipping down the greasy media pole

Three wearily predictable PROs made The Guardian's list of the 100 most powerful people in the media, which shows an admirable grasp of the entire media sector, if a slightly tenuous one of the discipline of PR.

Alastair Campbell was the highest ranker, up 19 from last year, but still only making number 24. Max Clifford slipped down the ranking, from 52 to 57. Matthew Freud has shot up from 86 in 2002 to 63 this year.

At that rate he'll overtake Max in next year's table. Whether Campbell will be in at all is open to debate.
