The agency will run internal and external relations for the unit, which is responsible for managing the private contractors that run local bus services.
Agency account director Stephanie Goodman said the work would include promoting a newly devised ‘Flexilink’ service that allows customers to book in advance, to be taken where they want.
‘It will mostly be local media relations – making people aware of the late-night bus services on Friday and Saturday for example’, she said.
Seal will also produce an internal newsletter to keep other council departments aware of issues such as transport for social services clients.
Goodman will handle the account, reporting to the council’s passenger and fleet transport manager Chris Pettifer.
