DIARY: 3x1's runaway success at Scottish PR Awards leaves rivals steaming

Much gnashing of teeth among agency bosses in Scotland's PR community at the sight of TCG spin-off 3x1 cleaning up at the awards last Friday.

The firm, barely two years old, won every one of the three awards it went for, as well as the unentered Grand Prix.

Although founders Julie McGarvey and Cameron Grant are pictured here with water - their award-winning campaign succeeded in boosting children's consumption of water over sweet fizzy drinks - they were later seen swigging champagne straight from the bottle.

Elsewhere at the black-tie do at the swanky Radisson SAS, the event saw the nation's PR and communications elite propping up the bar and knocking back the drambuie til the wee small hours.

Among those letting off steam were Glasgow City Council's PR team, some of whom were more upset than others at narrowly missing out on the in-house public sector department of the year award.
