APPOINTMENT: Allyson Andrews has joined tax management consultancy WJB Chiltern Group plc as PR manager. She is responsible for internal comms as well as promoting the company’s tax and business services. Andrews left Jones Lang LaSalle, where she was PR manager for four years, to join WJB.

SERVICES: Professional writing agency Clarity has hired Robert Taylor as associate director, with a brief to promote its services to the PR sector. Taylor joins the agency after two years at InfoSpace Europe, where he was head of public relations.

EVENT: The City of London Guild of Public Relations has this week released details of its black tie summer banquet. The event will be held on 17 July at the Mansion House. Lord Mayor Alderman Gavyn Arthur will be the principal speaker at the dinner.

MUSIC: CoalitionTotal Communications has been drafted in to promote the Eden Festival, a music festival to be held on The Wirral on 9 and 10 August. The agency reports to festival co-director David Pye.

CONSUMER: Contemporary art publisher The Art Group has hired Borkowski PR on a one-year contract. The agency will handle consumer, trade and B2B work reporting to director of marketing Rob Cooke.

HEALTHCARE: London based private GP firm Doctors Direct has hired CCD Healthcare PR to handle its consumer, trade and B2B account. The move follows a three-way pitch. A campaign will be launched later this month by the agency aimed at Londoners disillusioned with the NHS.

FINANCIAL: Fund management firm The Brandeaux Group has appointed Brown Lloyd James Financial to handle its PR. The brief includes strategic advice, brand development and promoting its student accommodation business PrimeLiving.

RECRUITMENT: GatenbySanderson, the headhunting firm set up this year by former Veredus regional director Graham Goodwin, has hired Grant Riches Communication Consultants to handle its PR.
