Davis plans site to bring together old media colleagues

Former Edelman PR vice-chairman David Davis is to launch a Friends Reunited-style website for PROs, journalists and other media professionals seeking to re-establish old contacts.

The site, mediabuddies.com, is currently building its list of registered members – who will be able to search the site’s membership database – before going fully live by the autumn.

Davis, who also runs an ‘agony uncle’ website for PROs, offering confidential advice and answers to questions on industry issues at askdd.com, said the site would offer free registration to founder members.

‘The main function here is to reunite people – people you met on an assignment overseas or worked with a few years ago,’ said Davis.

‘We’ve already had a small but encouraging response from the UK, Germany, the US, Russia and Singapore.’

Plans for a chat forum on the site are also under consideration, said Davis, a former journalist on The Times.
