DHL enlists WS for its rebrand PR in Australia and NZ

Sydney: Weber Shandwick has been appointed by global air-express group DHL to promote its rebrand and to handle other comms work in Australia and New Zealand.

WS scooped the account following a competitive pitch. It is understood four other agencies were involved in the review.

The appointment follows DHL parent firm Deutsche Post World Net’s decision last October to rebrand its parcel, express and logistics business globally. DHL now comprises three divisions: DHL Express, DHL Danzas Air & Ocean and DHL Solutions.

The rebrand campaign has already targeted major newspapers and trade publications in Australia and New Zealand, and selected Asian countries are to be targeted in the coming months.

WS Sydney general manager Ian Rumsby heads a three-strong account team, reporting to DHL marketing manager (Oceania) Duncan Gates.
