The Whiteoaks Consultancy has been hired to promote the venture, face2face, on a remit that is understood to carry PR fees in excess of £100,000.
Whiteoaks won the year-long remit after a three-way pitch. The agency’ first task involved handling face2face’s launch event, which was held last week.
face2face offers a ‘network of public-access, pay-per-use video communications facilities’, according to Whiteoaks co-founding director Gill Craig, who reports to face2face marketing director David Walsh.
Fifty venues are currently equipped with face2face terminals, with 50 more planned by August. The company hopes to have a venue in ‘every town and city in the country’ by Christmas, siting equipment in locations such as businesses and hotel chains.
Craig said Whiteoaks’s campaign would have a ‘strong regional element’, promoting ‘venue partnership’ deals when they were agreed.
Earlier this year, Surrey-based Whiteoaks handled a six-month B2B project for The Video Meeting Company (VMC), another Edmonds-backed firm.
Craig said the face2face campaign would promote potential savings in ‘time and money’ to individuals and businesses from face2face technology, with plans to tap into the vogue for media articles on ‘work-life balance’.
