International: Inforpress signs up to UN’s global CSR programme

MADRID: Spanish PR company Inforpress has become the first PR agency in Spain to sign up to the United Nations Global Compact corporate social responsibility programme.

Global Compact, launched in 1999, aims to bring together UN agencies and businesses worldwide to support nine principles in human rights, labour and the environment.

Inforpress Madrid office co-director Asun Soriano said: ‘We are conscious about social responsibility and want to give back to the community.

‘We’ve been advising clients in this area and figured we might as well be one of the first PR agencies to sign up.’

Inforpress - led by CEO Núria Vilanova - will make regular financial and social contributions that benefit employees and the community.

It will offer 50 per cent discounts on Inforpress PR courses to non-profit organisations and NGOs, and will donate around £26,000 to good causes.
