He said: ‘My focus will be international, but I will have responsibility for the London and New York offices.’
The agency, which earned more than £2m last year, plans to expand its range of specialisms.
It currently specialises in ethical healthcare work, but wants to ramp up consumer healthcare work, as it says pharmaceutical clients see the area as increasingly important.
‘Pharma clients now want to target consumers and not just doctors - without breaking the rules,’ said Parsons.
Parsons reports to CPR Group joint CEOs Steve Carroll and Scott Clark.
Carroll said: ‘The promotion of Parsons reflects the contribution he has made to the agency over the past three years, and the broader role he will be fulfilling in the future.’
