TV Corp to review financial PR as it looks to woo City

The Television Corporation, the firm behind TV shows Robot Wars and Question Time, is staging a financial PR review in a bid to communicate its strengths to the City.

London Stock Exchange-listed TV Corp confirmed it is putting the account out to pitch following Mantra PR’s takeover of incumbent Impact Consultancy earlier this year (PRWeek, 17 January).

TV Corp head of comms Mark Ogle said Impact’s sale sparked a review of its City PR needs, but added he would invite Mantra to take part in the pitch.

Ogle’s appointment last April as the group’s first in-house PRO also prompted a review of PR across the board, which saw programme publicity incumbent RDA axed.

The financial PR brief will involve IR and City comms to help make sure the firm is known for more than just its flagship shows.

It is also involved with Channel Four’s cricket and BSkyB’s football coverage, and this year secured the rights to produce US show Paradise Hotel.
