MEDIA: Sunday Telegraph gets home section

The Sunday Telegraph has launched an eight-page stand-alone section, House & Home, to give prominence to its property features and resurrect gardening coverage in the paper.

House & Home editor Anne Cuthbertson said: 'The new section offers homeowners good advice. We already talk to estate agents' press offices and will cover property market stories, trends, advice and houses which have recently been renovated or restored.

'Property has developed quite a high profile within papers over the years, which means PROs have a tough task. There are only so many properties with good stories attached to them.'

Exclusives would be welcomed, Cuthbertson continued. But she said: 'This is not a shopping section. We are not looking at curtains or carpets.'

Property coverage was previously placed in the Review section of the paper, while Elspeth Thompson's Urban Gardener column has been moved from the paper's magazine to House & Home as part of two weekly gardening pages.

Editorial on mortgages will remain in the Sunday Telegraph's Money section, which is now called Money & Jobs.
