The agency will handle some PR and media relations work, in addition to a core events remit for the new product, which is understood to be launching across Europe in the autumn. It will be targeted at the youth market.
KLP was last week appointed as lead agency across Europe for the remit, which could also see sister agencies in the Euro RSCG group across the continent handling work in Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Holland.
KLP will work alongside Paris-based youth-marketing agency Rouge, which will handle various programmes in France, including online promotional work.
It is understood that both Pirate Communications and Blonstein & Associates were under consideration to handle the UK aspect of the remit,
before Philips’s marketing team in Paris opted to hand ‘lead agency’ status on the contract to KLP.
KLP account director Ben Robinson leads a six-strong account team, reporting to Philips’s Paris-based worldwide concept marketing manager Eric Maulave.
