Ogilvy Spanish comms shop names Barcelona boss

Madrid: Bassat Ogilvy Consejeros de Comunicacion has put Salvador Aumedes at the helm of its Barcelona franchise, replacing Carles Peyra, who left recently for undisclosed reasons.

Aumedes will be in charge of running the 18-strong business, part of the Ogilvy advertising and PR network, according to corporate communications director Enrique Gomez.

He will oversee all of the firm’s activities and spearhead growth in corporate and crisis communications, the company’s forte.

Aumedes will report to BOCC’s chief executive Borja Puig and liaise with the firm’s Madrid office, which together with Barcelona, handle about 30 clients in Spain.

BOCC’s top customers include T-Systems, the Barcelona City Hall and cultural institution Forum 2004.

Prior to the appointment, Aumedes was corporate communications chief at BOCC for four years.

Before joining BOCC, Aumedes was director for Weber Shandwick Spain’s consumer division.
