In Press won the job through a bidding process, according to Daniela Farina, who will head a team of ten at the agency's Rio office.
The event is held every two years in Rio's largest convention center,
Riocentro.About 850 publishing companies from Brazil and abroad will have booths at this year's fair, held May 15-25.
Farina said that over 500,000 were expected to attend the event, in which organizers and exhibitors have invested 17 million reais (US$5.9m). Speakers include Salman Rushdie, Scott Turow and Catherine Millet.
In Press has 130 staff in its Rio and Sao Paulo offices and had total
revenues of 13 million reais (U$4.5 million) last year. Since Oct 1999, the
agency has been Porter Novelli's exclusive partner in Brazil. The Omnicom agency is negotiating the purchase of a stake in In Press, which is controlled by Cristina Moretti and Ivandel Godinho.
