Pruja-Artiaga will take charge of media relations and promotional work
aimed at winning financial backers for the charitable institution. He will also set up a communications strategy which will include a new web site and a series of events to attract funding.
Launched in September 2000 by the dancer Victor Ullate, the foundation aims to support the development of young ballet dancers in Spain and
to promote the arts in general.
The institution’s main goal is to provide children from impoverished backgrounds with scholarships to to pursue a dancing career and full academic studies.
Pruja-Artiaga said a big part of his job will be to use PR to ‘make the fundacion a completely independent body with its own funds.'
That strategy will include press publicity and approaching Spanish corporate heavyweights and wealthy individuals to raise about 600,000 euros for this year’s budget and about 1 million euros for 2004.
