RNS launches new product as part of disclosure service

The London Stock Exchange's Regulatory News Service (RNS) launched a product this week aimed at speeding up and simplifying the company announcement process for financial PROs.

RNS Submit, a Word-based product, is planned to improve the time-consuming process of converting financially sensitive data from Word and Excel into ASCII - the standard code used by computers to exchange written communication - when it goes live on 7 April.

All Primary Information Providers (PIPs) are required to convert information into ASCII before sending it to secondary providers such as Reuters and Bloomberg.

Head of RNS Simon Wilkinson, said: 'RNS Submit takes some of the effort out of the conversion process.'

The service is part of a £15m investment the LSE has made in its disclosure services in the last three years.
