MEDIA: Guardian extends its science coverage

The Guardian is launching its weekly science and environment supplement, called Life, on 3 April.

It will incorporate Online, the current Thursday supplement, and covers the impact of science on people's lives, along with nature, technology, medicine and the environment.

Life's editorial will include an interview and investigative features as well as comment and analysis. Life editor Emily Wilson, who was previously commissioning editor on The Guardian's G2 section and a medical reporter on the Daily Mail, said PROs will be helpful in providing interview ideas: 'We will run out of famous scientists in a month, so I want to know about people doing great research who are also good communicators. We are looking for interesting scientific angles from here and abroad.'

Two science correspondents are to join the new supplement. Dr David Adam is currently at Nature, while Dr Ian Sample is on New Scientist. A science reporter, Alok Jha, has already been appointed. Previously at science policy magazine Research Fortnight, his remit will also take in science coverage on Guardian Unlimited.
