She said this week that she was 'considering her position', following the mounting speculation that she is to resign from the post.
In a statement, Acton said: 'The Conservative Group at the GLA and I are discussing how we organise the media operation in order to best communicate with Londoners.'
Acton only took up her role in October last year, reporting to the London Assembly Conservatives leader Eric Ollerenshaw.
Prior to joining, she had a role giving 'ad hoc PR and presentational' advice to John Bercow MP, before he resigned from the Shadow Cabinet last November, and prior to that she was an associate director at Harrison Cowley for more than three years.
