PUBLIC SECT0R: Start-up Eloqui to run strategic brief for disability body

The Disability Rights Commission is set to develop its strategic comms capability by hiring PR start-up Eloqui after a six-way pitch.

Eloqui, which was set up by ex-Weber Shandwick global director of strategy Chris Genasi and Shandwick co-founder Richard Sermon last month, will conduct a communications audit and develop a fresh comms strategy for the DRC.

The DRC is the body responsible for promoting the rights of disabled people under the Disability Discrimination Act.

Genasi said it was important for the DRC to focus on the needs of the UK's 8.5 million disabled people - with many of the target audience not considering themselves disabled.

At the same time, the DRC is conscious of helping audiences such as businesses, schools and service providers to accept their new responsibilities under the Act, without alienating them.
