While new to the Health Influencer list, Kim Johnson is anything but new to the world of healthcare communications. A 20-year healthcare veteran, Johnson was appointed global CEO of Ogilvy Health in July, replacing Kate Cronin, who left to join Moderna.
In her network-level role, Johnson was able to start a collection of health leaders known as the WPP Health Community, which gave her a birds-eye view into Ogilvy Health. "I know the goals, the transformation and the work Kate was doing with the business and the team," Johnson said when she took the job.
She spent her first few months looking for growth opportunities for Ogilvy Health, including diversifying health to companies inside and outside the sector and consulting clients on how digital transformation has accelerated life science.
Johnson began her career at fellow WPP agency Wunderman, where she oversaw the firm's pharma business. She also served as president of GSW and Palio before eventually becoming the architect of the two agencies' merger to form Syneos' flagship brand.
Johnson also spent time as a partner at The Bloc and held marketing leadership roles at Pfizer before rejoining WPP in February 2020.
