Since April, Maura Bergen has been co-leading Porter Novelli's global health team with Lisa O’Sullivan. She supports clients with managing the shifting expectations of stakeholders from a comms and business strategy perspective, including introducing them to Porter Novelli’s other practice areas in corporate and internal comms. Pharma, Bergen noted, will need stronger customer partnership and centricity to activate and impact critical challenges within a specific disease sector, and it is in this tension where the exciting opportunity for alignment and a new contract can be drawn for pharma and its customers.
“We see data and insights as our way of developing purpose-driven approaches that have an impact not just for patients, but also for the business,” Bergen said.
Porter Novelli’s healthcare practice works with clients such as Bayer, Cardinal Health, Johnson & Johnson, Novartis and Pfizer. Porter Novelli posted a 3.4% gain in revenue globally last year to $150 million and a 3.7% increase in the U.S. to $110 million, according to PRWeek’s Agency Business Report 2021.
Before joining Porter Novelli in 2018, Bergen was an EVP at Cohn & Wolfe (now BCW). She also spent four years as an SVP at Ketchum and four years as a PR director at Novartis.
