Health Influencer 30: Jennifer Gottlieb

Global president, Real Chemistry

What agency has raised more eyebrows than any other because of its rapid growth in the past five years? There’s a very strong case to be made for Real Chemistry, or W2O as it was known until this spring. And one of the biggest driving forces in the rapidly expanding Real Chemistry empire is Jennifer Gottlieb.

As global president Gottlieb has helped build the healthcare agency network into a powerhouse alongside founder and CEO Jim Weiss via its use of real-world evidence, proprietary technology and use of analytics and digital insights. The firm has also made an eye-catching number of acquisitions, bolting on new services and specialities, in the past three years.

A rare agency loyalist, Gottlieb has been at Real Chemistry and predecessor W2O since 2006, starting at the firm as its healthcare practice leader after working at agencies including Cohn & Wolfe, Edelman and Makovsky.

Gottlieb also has an eye on agency life at the healthcare behemoth. She is executive sponsor of the network’s diversity, equity and inclusion practice, and she has helped lead the launch of Real Chemistry’s Lean in Circles, which supports more than 200 women across more than two dozen interest groups. Gottlieb is a board member of the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Expect Miracles Foundation, along with several groups supporting women executives.
