Matt Terrill named managing partner at Firehouse Strategies

WASHINGTON: Public affairs firm Firehouse Strategies has named Matt Terrill as managing partner.

He will work collaboratively with founding partners Terry Sullivan and Alex Conant with a focus on continued growth over the next five years.

Since its founding five years ago, Firehouse has grown into a 25-person shop with clients in the pharmaceutical, technology, finance and retail sectors, including FedEx, AARP, GE and the National Retail Federation.

"We don't want to lose touch with what was so beneficial to the heart and soul of what made Firehouse successful, and that was putting a big premium on client relationships,” Terrill said.

His promotion is a formalization of the work he'd done to help Firehouse's pace of growth set during the pandemic, according to Sullivan.

"As we came out of this [pandemic], we asked ourselves 'How are we leaning into this and being aggressive?'" Sullivan said. "So this was the natural time to capitalize on this growth and formalize the role [Terrill] has served in to free [Conant] and I up to think more 10 years down the road."

Terrill's background is in politics. He joined the Firehouse team in 2018 as the first employee after founding partners Sullivan and Conant. He'd previously been chief of staff for Sen. Marco Rubio’s (R-FL) 2016 presidential campaign.

He also served as political director at the Reclaim America Leadership PAC, special assistant to the chairman of the Republican National Committee and deputy victory director for the Republican Party of Wisconsin.
