Toptable ready to switch PR agency to raise its profile

Restaurant-booking company is on the verge of switching PR agency as it seeks to boost its profile.

As PRWeek went to press, a decision was imminent as to which of three agencies - Four Communications, Rock Communications and Lawson Dodd - would be hired.

Toptable marketing manager Jo Mawhinney confirmed one of the agencies would be hired for a remit to kick off within 'two to three' weeks.

Since it was founded three years ago, Toptable has retained London-based PR agency Pure Public Relations, which will cease working for Toptable 'in a few weeks,' according to Mawhinney.

Mawhinney stressed the decision to change agency was amicable, adding: 'This is a natural progression. It's always good to get fresh ideas.'

The bulk of the PR brief up for grabs comprises consumer PR, although Mawhinney said: 'There's probably a business story to be told as well.'

Toptable acts as an agent, selling tables for 1,200 restaurants in more than 30 UK cities, plus Paris and Dublin, to customers.
