Pitch Update: Grace Han, People's Energy Company, Gumtree, Abercrombie & Fitch, Archery GB and more

PRWeek's weekly round-up of pitches and account moves.

Publicasity has been appointed to represent luxury leather goods brand Grace Han. The agency will focus on promoting the designer to consumer and trade media in the UK. The brief involves showcasing three collections, Love Letter, Ballet Lesson and Butterfly, managing new product launches and influencer outreach. 

People's Energy Company, an ethical and sustainable UK energy provider, has appointed The Fourth Angel as its PR agency, after a four-way competitive pitch. The agency's brief includes corporate and consumer PR, as well as support on future campaign initiatives. The Fourth Angel will also amplify PEC’s advertising campaign, featuring rugby star Gareth Thomas.

Luxury global strategy and marketing agency, Issa PR will launch the Future of Luxury symposium in London and New York City in March. The new annual symposium will feature leaders from some of the world’s top luxury brands and media companies to discuss the evolving business landscape and the future of the industry. 

Abercrombie & Fitch Co has appointed Canoe to provide consumer PR across EMEA.

Fusion Media has been hired to support the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Cycling & Walking (APPGCW) to promote all forms of cycling and walking. Fusion will provide public affairs and public relations support to the group in a brief that includes helping it build its profile inside and outside Westminster, increasing activity and awareness through press coverage, events and campaigns. 

Archery GB has appointed White Tiger PR to develop and implement a long-term PR strategy during an Olympic year. The campaign aims to increase the popularity and highlight the accessibility of archery, and showcase its benefits as an inclusive activity. White Tiger will be responsible for promoting the sport during a busy Olympic and Paralympic year.

AI-powered insights engine provider Strativo has appointed Centropy PR as its UK agency. Centropy will lead the company’s UK communications programme, including design and execution of storytelling campaigns, executive thought leadership and influencer relations. 

Pet insurance provider Bought By Many has appointed Brands2Life as its retained communications agency.

 

Hallam has secured three full-service retainers: retailer WatchPilot, catering supplier  Catering24, and Boots Hearingcare.

Hill+Knowlton Strategies has won a new mandate from independent climate change think tank E3G. The brief includes helping E3G cut through the conversation on climate change during the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, providing balance and informed analysis to support governments and business around the world.

Property management firm FirstPort has appointed Kindred as its retained media relations partner for 2021. The agency has been briefed to improve customer understanding of what FirstPort does and to achieve its goal of becoming "the UK’s favourite property manager".   

Palm has been appointed by health snacks maker Perkier to implement an integrated digital advertising, PR and social media campaign. The campaign is intended to support the brand in growing its sales and retailer footprint using traditional media, social content and digital advertising. 

Newsfeed PR has been appointed to lead PR and influencer activity for Cricut UK, which produces cutting machines. The account will be led by Jodie Simpson, executive director at Newsfeed PR. The agency will lead on all UK media and support influencer relations, helping to drive brand consideration and get the nation "making and creating". 

Gumtree has hired The Romans as its retained PR agency following a competitive pitch process. 

Domino Communications has won new drinks clients: Crystal Head Vodka, Egan’s Whiskey and Jung & Wulff Luxury Rums

Developer Regal London and workspace provider TOG (The Office Group, pictured below), have appointed Powerscourt as their strategic communications advisers. The integrated briefs for both clients cover corporate communications, creative campaigns, issues management and digital media support.

TDC PR has been appointed by the UK subsidiary of Italian paper manufacturer Fedrigoni to drive its PR and communications programme in the UK. 

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) is seeking an agency to handle its PR, public affairs and stakeholder relations, in a three year account worth £1.5m.

ADPR has been awarded the contract to deliver wearable tech firm Polar’s PR and partnership activity in the UK and Ireland. The brief includes raising its profile, consumer and media awareness. 

AxiCom has been appointed by WPP’s addressable TV company Finecast as its PR agency of record. This follows a project to promote Finecast’s 2020 'Thinking Inside the Box' research to examine TV viewing habits and the impact of addressable advertising.

East of Eden has won the launch campaigns for new app OOOOO and US seltzer brand Take Five. OOOOO is a consumer platform, devised by the team behind TikTok and Wish.com, that introduces a new way of shopping. East of Eden will design the celebrity, influencer and press launch campaign for Take Five Hard Seltzer over the spring and summer.

Purplefish has won several new clients: family-owned waste management provider Grundon, University of Western England Bristol, and a one-off project with global hospitality tech firm Deliverect.

The Lifestyle Agency has won three new clients: silk accessories and lifestyle brand Golden Hour, wellness brand Conscious {by design}, and independent bottler and whisky cask ownership experts Cask 88.

IRC (International Running Club) has appointed Canoe to handle strategic communications to coincide with its launch this year. Canoe will provide a range of communication services that includes media relations, product placement and seeding.

The Skinny Food Co has hired The PHA Group for a press office brief that spans product placement, feature placement and business profiling as it continues to grow exponentially. The PHA Group has also won a brief for Cruelty Free International to manage its PR strategy in the UK. 

Hard Numbers has won a brief for NHS-approved digital therapeutics healthtech company my mhealth. Hard Numbers will be responsible for raising my mhealth’s profile in the UK through PR and digital campaigns, as well as supporting its international growth with demand generation and account-based marketing activities.

North PR has won the retained business of seltzer drink brand Sentz and DeliVita, a manufacturer of hand-crafted wood-fired ovens.

Austria’s Wienerberger – a provider of wall, roof and landscaping innovations – has appointed Refresh to deliver PR services in the UK, with a brief to raise awareness of the brand in the social housing market. The agency has also won briefs from payments tech provider ePOS and LG’s heating arm.

Family bike shop Cycle King & Hawk Cycles has appointed PaceUp Media as its new agency partner. PaceUp’s brief includes delivery of consumer and trade campaigns across PR, social and digital marketing to increase awareness and advocacy of the Cycle King & Hawk Cycles brand throughout the UK market.
