Chuka Umunna is to leave Edelman after nine months to join JP Morgan in a role leading the bank's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) work in Europe.

Max Blain has been appointed as Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s official spokesperson.

Carlsberg Group’s former director of external affairs, Kasper Elbjørn, is joining Danfoss as vice-president, head of communications. Danfoss is an engineering multinational that manufactures heating, electronics, hydraulics and other products.

Selfridges has hired former Walgreen Boots internal comms chief Catriona Woolner-Winders as its executive director of communication. 

The Public Relations Global Network has appointed Spider founder and chair Sara Pearson as its regional vice-president for EMEA. She succeeds Uwe Schmidt, co-owner and partner of Industrie-Contact AG in Hamburg, Germany.

International communications firm Infinite Global has appointed Patrick Tooher as director and head of its UK financial services practice. 

Design sector PR specialist Red Setter has launched a broadcast division with the appointment of Giles Draper as head of broadcast. Draper has previously worked for Markettiers and is a former Sky News journalist.

Brunswick Group has hired Edelman corporate reputation and litigation director Antony Dunkels to strengthen its Litigation Communication offering.

Engine MHP has made two senior appointments to its financial services team following what it called a "period of rapid growth" in the division.

Stonegate, one the country's biggest pub groups, has promoted Kate Vicary to director of communications and business planning.
