CHICAGO: History Factory has promoted Jason Dressel to president.

Dressel, previously an MD at the company, is based in Washington, DC, and started in the newly-created position January 28. He reports to History Factory’s global president and COO Rick Beller and, in turn, has four direct reports.

The president’s role was created as part of a long-term succession plan at the firm, an agency spokesman said. Dressel will also be working closely with the agency’s founder, chairman and CEO Bruce Weindruch on that succession plan. However, the agency declined to provide details about how the succession will work.

Dressel has been with the company since 1999, according to his LinkedIn profile.

History Factory specializes in drawing on the history and heritage of clients to help them with brand positioning, marketing and communications. The agency was recently shortlisted for the 2021 PRWeek U.S. Awards as a finalist in the Outstanding Non-Traditional Agency category.

The PRWeek U.S. Awards will be held virtually on March 18.
