Former Edelman managing director Scott Thomson and senior consultant Amy Watson have joined forces to launch Forge Communications, a communications and reputation management consultancy to serve Australian clients.

Thomson joined Edelman London in 2002, and held leadership posts in Europe, North America, and APAC while Watson joined Edelman Canada in 2017 and moved with the firm back to her native Australia in 2019.

Forge Communications will focus on responsible business practices, and will sign up to the the 1% for the Planet initiative while dedicating a minimum of one day per employee per quarter to volunteering in the community.

"We're inspired by businesses that are stepping up to the plate and addressing the big issues of the day," said Watson.

"It's a tough environment today for building and sustaining brand reputations," said Thomson. "Leaders are looking for smart and adaptable advisors who they can trust to understand their unique circumstances, act in their best interests, and help them stay on the front foot."
