NEW YORK: Havas Creative North America has hired Bria Bryant as head of communications.
Bryant started in the role January 4 and reports to Stephanie Nerlich, CEO of Havas Creative North America.
She oversees the comms teams embedded in each of the Havas creative agencies and manages a PR team of five from Havas’ public relations agency, which assists with internal and external communication, according to a Havas spokeswoman.
The role has been empty since 2019, the spokeswoman said, when the former head of comms Megan Rokosh was named global CMO of Havas Health & You.
“The biggest thing that attracted me to Havas, really, was the number of women holding top positions across the company,” Bryant said. “That is atypical for the advertising world. Also, the company’s relationship to Vivendi. No other company can say it has that tie to a media, gaming and entertainment giant [like that].” Vivendi bought 60% of Havas in 2017.
Among Bryant’s initial goals is finalizing her North American comms plan, and a key function her strategy, she said, will be leveraging the power of Vivendi to “build and drive reputation at Havas.”
Prior to Havas, Bryant was an SVP at MSL, which did not immediately comment on her departure.
