GCI Health expands into Japan and India

The WPP agency announces its arrival in two of the biggest healthcare markets in the region.

Health and medical communications agency GCI Health has launched in Japan and India, two of the region's largest healthcare markets. The Japan offering will be led by Chitose Yamada who will take on the role of managing director. Yamada has over 20 years of healthcare communications experience and joins from Weber Shandwick, where she was executive vice president, client experience, healthcare. She also held leadership positions at Edelman and InVentiv Medical Communications.

In India, the WPP agency expands via Genesis BCW's Pharma, Health & Wellness practice. The transition will offer existing and new clients in India continued access to the local team's strategic integrated and creative services. Hemali Bhutani, currently senior director, Genesis BCW, will take on the newly created position of managing director, GCI Health India, and Naina Siwach, currently director at Genesis BCW, assumes the role of deputy managing director, GCI Health India.

"Japan and India are critical healthcare markets which we look forward to fully servicing via our footprint expansion and the proven and exceptional leadership of Chitose, Hemali and Naina," said Rikki Jones, regional managing director, GCI Health Asia-Pacific.

GCI Health has an existing presence in Singapore and Hong Kong.
