ClearBank appoints UK PR agency

ClearBank, the UK’s first new clearing bank in more than 250 years, has hired CCgroup to handle its UK PR, following a competitive pitch.

The brief is to deliver an integrated marketing communications programme focused on raising awareness of the client among major UK financial institutions and fintech businesses.

CCgroup will also oversee a content marketing programme to generate sales leads with key buying audiences, and will seek to increase company value by profiling key assets that boost valuation.

ClearBank's clients are regulated companies that offer financial services. It provides the banking infrastructure systems used by its clients to service their customers, meaning clients don't need to build them internally.

Louise Hetherington, head of marketing and communications at ClearBank, said: “Our challenge is that most people don’t understand the importance of clearing systems. We also need to raise awareness and drive engagement with both banks and fintechs – two very different audiences that require different messaging, content and channels.

CCgroup immediately demonstrated that it understood our vision and could communicate the importance of clearing systems to the UK financial services sector. The team also developed a nuanced communications strategy designed to target our two major buying audiences that is already paying dividends.”

Daniel Lowther, head of fintech at CCgroup, said: “ClearBank is one of the most exciting brands in fintech. Clearing systems are the backbone of our financial services sector, and desperately need modernising if the UK is to continue to lead the world. This is why we’re both excited and proud to be working with ClearBank. By helping it achieve its goals we aren’t just helping ClearBank, we’re helping to transform the UK financial services market for the better.”
