Movers & Shakers: The PR Group, Twitter, and more

The PR Group has been engaged to support Singapore-based telco provider Circles.life to expand into Australia. It has also been appointed by CRM platform Zendesk to support its employee engagement and internal communications across APAC. And working in team with Singaporean digital agency, First Wave, The PR Group will also help launch Monopoly Explore! SG, Hasbro's digital version of Monopoly, which has been tailored to the Singaporean market. The PR Group opened its Singapore office in late 2019.

Stewart Russell, head of comms at Twitter Australia, will depart the social media company after seven years. Russell began his career at Twitter in the UK where he began as an intern before progressing to acting head of UK comms and eventually moving to Australia in 2019 to head up comms for ANZ. In Australia, where he spent close to two years, he was responsible for all external comms across consumer, ads, product, corporate and policy. 

Sandpiper Communications has appointed Emily Siu and Lisa Fong as account directors in Hong Kong. Siu and Fong will work closely with the senior management team to strengthen the firm's financial services, corporate, and professional services offerings. Prior to joining Sandpiper, Siu was a director in FTI Consulting's strategic communications practice where she specialised in corporate reputation management and multi-stakeholder communications. Meanwhile, Fong held roles in international agencies including Finsbury and Teneo, where she advised a range of clients in investment banking, real estate, asset management, technology, hedge funds, fintech, and the legal sector.

Finsbury Glover Hering, the newly formed global strategic communications advisory firm, hired China veteran Mei Zhang as a managing director in Hong Kong. Zhang joins after a 25-year career providing professional counsel to international companies, including 11 years at Goldman Sachs in Asia, as an executive director in government affairs, corporate communications and the China Liaison Group. Prior to that she was vice president of corporate communications at Salomon Smith Barney, Citigroup. Other recent hires include Kevin Ma, director, and Helen Tang, associate director, both based in Beijing.

Duo Studio has won a pitch as agency on record for social media marketing agency for Reebok Southeast Asia on a year-long retainer, handling the brand's Instagram and Facebook accounts. Tasked with developing the digital strategy to establish brand leadership in the region, Duo Studio will also spearhead creative production and influencer management to meet the objectives of elevating brand awareness as well as desirability among fitness and style enthusiasts, along with building brand affinity with audiences.

Whirlpool of India has appointed Lowe Lintas as its marketing and communications partner. KG Singh, vice president of marketing with Whirlpool of India, cited the digital-first approach, powerful insights and compelling brand strategy the agency presented. As the brand's full-service brand communications partner, Lowe Lintas will devise its strategy and build omnichannel creative solutions to fuel Whirlpool's next level of growth, the agency said.
