Indie House offers a range of communications services to brands, platforms and content-owners that operate in the entertainment industry.
Services on offer include reputation management, strategy, creative and media relations.
The agency has launched with three foundation clients: Argonon, an independent group of production companies; independent TV production company Windfall Films; and branded video agency Nemorin Film & Creative.
“We’re in the early stages of a multi-year content 'arms race' where, over the next decade. There will be a huge flow of investment into the wider entertainment sector, creating incredible new opportunities for brands, producers and content owners,” Turner said.
“Navigating the rapidly changing content landscape to build reputation and credibility will be critical to success. Indie House aims to bring independent thinking to in-house teams, harnessing extensive senior-level agency and big-brand expertise.”
Turner said a long-term focus of the firm will be to champion neurodiversity, adding: “I want to help create a better world and a brighter future where my talented, autistic seven-year-old son has as good an opportunity as anyone to use his creativity, unique perspective and array of skills within the entertainment industry.”
Prior to his year at Freuds, Turner’s roles included senior director of communications at ViacomCBS Networks International. While there he worked with director of programmes Ben Frow on improving the reputation and legacy of Channel 5 with media, industry and viewers. His remit involved crisis management, consumer and internal comms, as well as responsibility for comms for MTV UK, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central.
Turner also spent nine years at Sky, including four years as head of programme publicity overseeing comms for 20 channels, including Sky One, Sky Movies, Sky Arts and Sky News.
He has also worked agency-side, most recently at Freuds, with a remit to grow its entertainment offering across TV, media and film, as well as direct oversight of the Amazon Prime Video account. He also previously worked at House PR.
