It’s time to pull back the curtain and show off your best work. Brand Film Awards U.S. 2021 is open for submissions, with Google’s Jeffrey Whipps as jury chair. And this year, Haymarket Media’s pharma and healthcare marketing title MM+M is joining the party to celebrate the best in filmmaking on behalf of brands.

2021 Edelman Trust Barometer finds an all-around decline in trust. The COVID-19 pandemic prompted a wave of mistrust in all institutions, including government, business and the media. Trust in the U.S. and Chinese governments also plunged due to their handling of the pandemic, according to the latest edition of the report, released on Wednesday morning. 

Financial services software company Stripe has hired former LinkedIn CMO Shannon Brayton as its top communications executive, according to The Information. Stripe made headlines this week when it said it would no longer process payments for the Trump campaign’s website. (Yes, there is still a Trump campaign website). 

Along those lines, YouTube has suspended President Donald Trump’s account for at least seven days, following what the platform called a “stike,” or policy violation, by the page. YouTube said it also disabled comments on Trump’s account due to concerns about violence. The Google-owned platform followed Twitter, Facebook and other platforms in cutting off Trump’s social media access after last Wednesday’s Capitol insurrection. 

L’Oreal has a new chief communications officer. Blanca Juti is set to join the beauty company at the start of April in its top communications role and as a member of its executive committee, according to WWD. She will replace Lucia Dumas in the role.
