Lee is based at 3 Monkeys Zeno in London and will focus on expanding Zeno’s healthcare work in the UK, France and Germany.
She will oversee several of Zeno’s health clients, including AstraZeneca, Hologic and NSF International, and report to Ame Wadler, Zeno’s MD of global health.
Lee joins today from Red Consultancy, where she was head of health, and has previously served as deputy chair of Burson Marsteller’s global healthcare practice in a 20-year career in the consumer health and RX pharma sectors.
Other clients she has worked with include Bayer, Amgen and AbbVie.
“Avril is arriving at Zeno at a strategically important time for us and our clients,” Wadler said. “Healthcare and understanding the power of science is essential to the way businesses, communities and families will return to some normalcy. Avril’s wide-ranging expertise will help clients deliver value to their distinct and varied audiences today while helping them articulate their vision for the future.”
Lee said: “The people and the clients are what makes a great place to work, and Zeno stands out on both counts. I'm eager to join Zeno as they continue to bring the agency's bold creative and smart thinking to health brands across their network – in an age where helping audiences understand and engage with the message has never been more important.”
Lee is also known in the industry for her work on diversity and inclusion. She is the chair of the CIPR’s D&I Network and last year discussed the steps the CIPR is taking to improve diversity in a special edition of The PR Show podcast.
